OUR MOTO

BharatCares is committedtowards the mission of empowering the underserved communities with the armour of better health and wellbeing, easy access and rapid response of medical facilities

ABOUT THE PROJECT

In India, the current state of Primary Health Centre is dire. Under the National Health Mission (NHM), Primary Health Centres are established to cover a population of 30,000 in rural areas and 20,000 in hilly, tribal and desert areas. Apart from low rates of institutionalised delivery and vaccine coverage, a high maternal and infant mortality rate that is a serious concern and priority, the availability of formal primary care in urban and rural areas is practically non-existent. At the primary care level, there are severe shortages of competent health-care providers. In India, still many families have to travel 10–20 kilometers to access the closest Primary Health Centre due to the state's widespread population (particularly in the state's steep south and desert in the west). In addition to that, other challenges are shortage of medical manpower, poor infrastructure and its inability to meet critical medical needs. Most Primary Health Centres are also under equipped and lack supplies to provide comprehensive primary care. Due to such gaps, even those families that can access these centers continue to look elsewhere for their critical healthcare needs.

Our Interventions:
To address the shortfall in the rural primary health system in India, BharatCares aims to upgrade and strengthen Primary Health Centers and Community Health Centers. The program aims to equip the primary and community healthcare Centers with essential equipment and infrastructure in the rural areas are prerequisite in order to provide immediate response to the community. The program intervenes by installing key medical equipment and accessories such as ventilators, ECG machines, anesthesia machines, baby warmers and others.
For the existing Primary Health Centres, upgradation of infrastructure, manpower and operations and added facilities is vital for its effective functioning.

Target Intervention
• Infrastructure Upgradation and Renovation
