ABOUT THE PROJECT

Pregnancy and childbirth are natural occurrences in a woman's life. While most pregnancies proceed smoothly, approximately 15% are at risk of complications that cannot be anticipated. Some of these complications pose serious threats to both the mother and her child.

The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) initiative aims to deliver high-quality healthcare services directly to pregnant women and children in the Bharuch region of Gujarat. Through the MMU, a variety of preventive, educational, diagnostic, and referral services will be offered, with a particular emphasis on enhancing maternal and child health. By identifying and addressing high-risk pregnancies, the initiative seeks to improve overall maternal and child health outcomes. The primary goal is to extend these services to underserved populations, thereby facilitating better access to care and referrals, ultimately leading to improved maternal and child health in the region.
