Senior Engagement Associate – Barely Plastic and Eco-School Initiative

Ahmedabad(Gujarat) INR 5.40 LPA - 6.30 LPA per annum (Depending on experience and expertise)

About the Position

The Senior Engagement Associate will play a pivotal role in advancing our Barely Plastic and Eco-School initiative, which aims to significantly reduce single-use plastic consumption at the household level through impactful school-based education and awareness programs. Leveraging our Barely Plastic platform, the incumbent will engage students, teachers, and school administrators, transform learners into eco-champions, and enable them to positively influence eco-conscious behaviors at home and within communities.

Responsibilities

School Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture relationships with partner schools, educators, and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and continued engagement of schools onto the Barely Plastic platform.
  • Regularly coordinate and communicate with schools to ensure active participation and support for program implementation.

Educational Program Development and Delivery:

  • Design and deliver engaging educational content and interactive workshops focused on reducing single-use plastic consumption.
  • Organize eco-consciousness drives, activities, and events within partner schools to foster active student participation.

Student Champion and Community Nudging:

  • Mentor and guide students to become Eco Champions, empowering them to influence household behaviors positively.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance parental engagement through student-led initiatives.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Outcome Mapping:

  • Utilize the Barely Plastic digital platform to track program outcomes, student participation, and behavioral changes.
  • Prepare regular reports analyzing data, highlighting successes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending actionable strategies.

Eco-School Model Creation and Scaling:

  • Collaborate with school authorities to establish replicable eco-school models and sustainability practices.
  • Document best practices and success stories for dissemination and scale-up across multiple schools and regions.

Mandatory Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Environmental Studies, Social Work, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in school-based engagement programs, environmental education, or community mobilization initiatives.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage diverse groups, particularly students, educators, and parents.
  • Experience in educational program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with digital platforms and tools for data tracking and reporting.
  • Passionate about sustainability, environmental conservation, and education.
  • Prior experience in waste management, plastic reduction, or eco-friendly education programs.
  • Experience in developing and managing student ambassador or champion programs.
