About the Position
The Manager – Centre of Excellence (CoE) will be responsible for leading the establishment, operational management, and strategic direction of the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics in Ahmedabad / Bharuch, Gujarat. This position requires a deep understanding of Industry 4.0, automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing technologies. The Manager will work closely with academia, industry leaders, government stakeholders, and funding partners to develop cutting-edge training, research, and industry collaboration programs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CoE in Ahmedabad / Bharuch, ensuring alignment with industry trends and educational best practices.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of technical trainers, faculty, and support staff.
- Develop and implement industry-aligned training programs in robotics, AI-driven automation, industrial IoT, and smart manufacturing.
- Ensure the infrastructure, lab equipment, and software tools are up-to-date and relevant to industry needs.
- Develop partnerships with manufacturing companies, automation firms, and robotics startups to facilitate internships, industry projects, and workforce training programs.
- Liaise with the Government of Gujarat and CSR partners to ensure smooth execution of CoE initiatives.
- Represent the CoE in national and international forums, industry conclaves, and government policy discussions.
- Design and implement hands-on skilling programs, hackathons, innovation challenges, and faculty development workshops.
- Collaborate with technical institutes and R&D bodies to drive applied research in smart manufacturing, digital twins, and automation.
- Guide faculty and students in publishing research papers, patents, and industrial case studies.
- Work with academic and industry experts to develop a future-ready curriculum integrating AI, robotics, and IoT.
- Ensure CoE training modules are aligned with National Education Policy (NEP 2020), Skill India Mission, and Make in India initiatives.
- Oversee faculty upskilling programs, ensuring educators are trained in modern industry methodologies.
- Set up a structured Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework to assess CoE performance.
- Generate periodic reports on student placements, industry collaborations, research impact, and financial sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, CSR funding guidelines, and CoE operational policies.
- Master’s in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or Industrial Engineering from a reputed institute.
- Additional certifications in Industry 4.0, AI in Manufacturing, IoT, or Smart Factories will be an advantage.
- 4-5 years of experience in robotics, automation, advanced manufacturing, or related domains in an industrial or academic setup.
- Hands-on expertise in industrial robotics, PLC programming, CNC machining, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and IoT-enabled smart factories.
- Proven track record in leading skilling/training programs, industry collaborations, and R&D projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of robotics, AI, automation, and manufacturing technologies.
- Experience in managing partnerships with industry, academia, and government bodies.
- Ability to develop training programs and research projects with real-world industry applications.
- Strong leadership, project management, and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of government skilling initiatives (Skill India, NEP 2020, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India).
Mandatory Qualification and Experience:
- Master’s in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or Industrial Engineering from a reputed institute.
- Additional certifications in Industry 4.0, AI in Manufacturing, IoT, or Smart Factories will be an advantage.
- 4-5 years of experience in robotics, automation, advanced manufacturing, or related domains in an industrial or academic setup.
