Associate Manager - Forestry and Agriculture

Nashik, Maharashtra INR 6.00 LPA - 7.20 LPA (Depending on the relevant experience)

About the Position

The Associate Manager - Forestry and Agriculture will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring sustainable forestry and agricultural initiatives in Nashik. The role involves working closely with stakeholders, including farmers, local communities, government agencies, and corporate partners, to promote environmental conservation and sustainable livelihood solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan, implement, and monitor forestry and agricultural projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and sustainability objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with farmers, community groups, government bodies, NGOs, and corporate partners to drive project success.
  • Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions and workshops for farmers and community members on sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, water conservation, and climate-resilient farming practices.
  • Afforestation & Agroforestry Initiatives: Lead plantation drives, agroforestry projects, and biodiversity conservation efforts in partnership with local stakeholders.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Track project progress, collect data, and assess impact through field visits and stakeholder feedback. Prepare regular reports and case studies.
  • Proposal Development & Fundraising: Assist in drafting project proposals, securing funding from CSR initiatives, and managing project budgets.
  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure that projects adhere to environmental regulations, government policies, and best practices in sustainable forestry and agriculture.

Mandatory Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in forestry, sustainable agriculture, rural development, or relatedareas.
  • Strong understanding of agroforestry, climate-smart agriculture, watershed management, and afforestation practices.
  • Experience in community engagement, capacity building, and working with government bodies or NGOs.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Marathi, Hindi, and English is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Nashik and nearby project locations.
  • Skills:

  • Knowledge of GIS mapping and remote sensing for environmental projects.
  • Experience in proposal writing and fundraising for CSR and government grants.
  • Hands-on experience with organic farming, soil conservation techniques, and sustainable water management.
  • Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license.
  • Willingness to engage in extensive fieldwork and travel.
