During the COVID-19 era, when the devastating pandemic was impacting the lives of thousands of people each day, BOSCH India supported COVID-19 Impacted Families under the Bosch India Social Engagement program. The support is designed to help the less privileged families who lost their livelihood earner or leaving the families in livelihood crisis due to COVID 19 pandemic by providing them with the Scholarship Support so that they can continue their education.

Diksha, a 16-year-old girl who worked as a household help before COVID-19, showed inclination to complete her education and thus was considered for a scholarship. She wants to complete graduation in engineering and support her family in future. BOSCH has provided her with the scholarship of INR 5000 for 1st year diploma (E&TC) to continue her education.
Pooja resides in Kalakar colony, Jaipur who wants to become a police officer one day. She is a studious girl who scored 68% in her 12th standard. She has a family of 10 members living under a single roof. She wakes up early in the morning everyday to prepare for her government entrance exams. When covid pandemic struck the whole world, Pooja's family lost their only livelihood which is playing Nagade (Drums) and Basuri (Flute) in weddings and other events. Her father is the only earning member who lost his job as he was not able to find the work. The family barely managed for ration and the living expense as the income was zero. She had to drop out from her education. We have helped her to get an admission in Rajasthan University to continue her education and fulfill her dreams.
Sandeep is a physically challenged child by birth. Owing to inaccessibility issues at the school, Sandeep, with the support of his peers and a teacher, had developed a mechanism of studying from home during Pre-covid times. The Tab has not only reinitiated his studies but, has also made him connect back with his friends, since they now often visit him out of curiosity of learning and read on the tab. Sandeep expressed that he feels like he has the school in his hand. He says this tab will be helpful for him not only amidst the pandemic but also beyond it. He says the tablet way for him to learn and become smart.
Durga was preparing for the critical competitive examination, NEET, to pursue her graduation. The pandemic had severely affected her family's income, and with schools going digital, she was unable to bear the cost of the Internet, nor could she afford private tuitions. Durga has now been Scholarship worth INR 19,000. She emphasises that she can only pursue medical education if she gets into a government college and is working arduously towards preparing for the exams. This scholarship has come to her just at the right time and when it was needed.
