Regional Monitoring Associate

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) INR 5.40 LPA - 7.20 LPA (Depending on the relevant experience)

About the Position

The Regional Monitoring Associate will be responsible for ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) within the designated region. The position requires conducting regular field visits, monitoring program implementation, collecting and analyzing data, and supporting the overall improvement of program effectiveness. The associate will work closely with the M&E team, field staff, and program managers to ensure that the data collected reflects the true impact of the program and supports continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Monitoring & Data Collection:

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor ongoing projects and assess the quality of implementation.
  • Collect data using predefined tools and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure that data is collected in a timely manner and entered into the system for analysis.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze data to generate actionable insights and trends.
  • Prepare regular reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) on project performance and impact.
  • Collaborate with program teams to share findings and support course corrections.

Training & Capacity Building:

  • Assist in training field staff and partners in data collection, monitoring, and reporting tools.
  • Provide technical support in improving monitoring tools and methods.

Evaluation & Learning:

  • Support the planning and execution of evaluations (baseline, midline, endline) in the region.
  • Assist in designing and conducting surveys to capture outcomes and impact.
  • Participate in learning and reflection sessions to derive lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with program teams, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of monitoring activities.
  • Collaborate with the central M&E team to align regional monitoring efforts with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings to present monitoring updates and findings.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the quality of data collected by field teams, including adherence to protocols and ethical guidelines.
  • Address any issues related to data quality or integrity in a timely manner.

Mandatory Qualification and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, data collection, or related roles in development, social work, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Experience in the use of monitoring and evaluation tools, frameworks, and methods.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital data collection platforms (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox) is an added advantage.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of Gujarati is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the region.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region (up to 50% travel).
  • Understanding of the local context and challenges in the region.
